In 1965 he married Sandra Jobson, a fellow journalist, author, and his business partner. They helped found The Glebe Society and worked as journalists in London for over 20 years. In 1972 Robert began researching DH Lawrence’s Australian novel Kangaroo, and in 1980 his book, DH Lawrence in Australia, was published. He is the President of the DH Lawrence Society of Australia. Robert and Sandra returned permanently to Sydney in 1987, where they launched an electronic publishing company. In 1995 they became interested in the then new Internet technology. In 1998 Robert helped launch what became Squiz Pty Ltd, today one of Australia’s leading web/Internet development companies. More recently they started The Library of Life and the Svengali Press.
